Stars and Stripes Forever-Flag or Banner Challenge

Hi everyone, it's Michelle here hosting our challenge this week.  Since the upcoming weekend celebrates the 4th of July, my challenge is to use a flag or banner in some way on a project to celebrate the holiday.  I am looking forward to going picnicking and going to see our community fireworks show at the park!  I made a layout with the Create A Critter 2 cartridge for my pictures.  My little holiday banners in the corners are like the ones decorating the stage where the band plays for the fireworks show-so fun!  Check out the awesome projects from the rest of the design team below for some ideas and link up your creation for us to see!

Project of the Week Winner - Lobster or Crab

Maureen here to announce the winner of our Lobster or Crab die cut challenge.  We had cards using crabs or lobsters for Father's Day, for end of school, and a pun on being crabby.  My favorite was a lobster used in a scrapbook page sharing a visit to a restaurant in Ohio.  Our winner is Mandy from http://vanillacarmel.blogspot.com/.  Congratulations and hope you join us often.

Food Challenge

Hello, everyone!

Melanie from Courtney Lane Designs here! It was my turn to host a challenge. Apparently, today is national Onion Ring day, so I thought it would be fun if everyone made something using food items. I mean how often do we craft using food stuff and there are lots and lots of Cricut food images out there!

Anyway, enjoy what we have for you this week! Play along if you can!

Winner of the 'Sign or Banner' Challenge

I'm here to announce the winner of last week's challenge:  Sign or Banner

And the winner is Glenda of glendascards.blogspot.com.   Her card has so much going on - a banner, a portrait, a proclamation, and 3 baseballs representing her 3 grandsons.  She used cuts from 6 different cartridges for the outside and inside of her card.  Love your card and the thought behind the creation.   Congrats Glenda!

National Lobster Day Challenge

SNAP - SNAP - It's National Lobster Day.   I sure enjoyed eating lobster on my trip to New England last fall.  I ate Lobster three days in a row, prepared three different ways.  This week's challenge is to create a Cricut project (card, layout, etc.) using a lobster or a crab.  I selected a mermaid picture of my granddaughter and surrounded her by underwater Disney creatures, including Sebastian, the Lobster.

Show us your crustacean creations, and don't get pinched!  Rules for the challenge on the sidebar.

Hello everyone.  Now that things are back to normal at BBTB2, we have decided to do a Design Team call and include more wonderful designers on our fabulous team.

  • Do you love paper crafting and using your Cricut?
  • Would you like to join the ORIGINAL Circut Challenge blog?

Let me tell you a bit about the the team and what is expected:

  • Our team is all about TEAM.  We share some of the responsibilities of the team, taking turns choosing the weekly cut and hosting the weekly blog posts.
  • We have a private facebook group where we share information and the blog and sometimes, about ourselves.  We also post tutorials and helpful links.
  • We have two blogs, the main BBTB2 blog, and a Designer's only blog where we post the upcoming challenges.
  • We like for our designer's to post projects 3 out of 4 weeks per month, though we understand family issues and life can interfere with that plan.
  • We like for our members to leave comments on the blogs of those who participate in our challenges.

If you would like to become part of a supportive design team and share your creativity publicly, please submit three of your Cricut cut projects to bbtb2dtcall@gmail.com by July 15th.  We would love to have you join our team!!

Kelly here to bring you this week's Project of the Week winner.   Thank you to everyone who entered the Wedding or Anniversary Challenge.  Every project was absolutely beautiful!  You are all such creative and talented crafters.  However, there can only be one winner.  The winner is The Craft Princess from Crafter's Castle.   I could not get past all the gorgeous detail in her card.  The patience it must have taken to wait for the pearl to dry!!??!!

Congratulations Craft Princess for creating the Project of the Week!!

Something Old and Something New

Hey there, Susan here, remember me?  Yes, I did give up the Bitten By the Bug 2 blog less than two weeks ago.  Well as quickly as things change, they change again!

It seems that I am back from a mini-retirement, with a new co-leader, to keep the blog and the Design Team going.

Who is this new co-leader you ask?  None other than our lovely, talented, and amazing Melanie Brown!!  Melanie left the Design Team with me, but when I boomeranged back I asked Melanie to boomerang back with me, and to become a co-leader.  After some serious begging she agreed - mostly because she is a honey!

One of the things I love most about Bitten By the Bug 2, aside from our devotion to the Cricut, is that the blog really is a team effort. Everyone selects challenge and hosts challenges.  Someone is in charge of our birthday calendar.  We discuss any changes.  And I feel like we support one another.  I know the team supported me when I had my mini-retirement and I so appreciated their efforts.

I hope that you will excuse our burp in leadership and direction (just view it as a two week vacation) and will continue to join us as we move forward.  So go crank up those Cricut machines and let's get cutting!!!

Join in our challenge and link up your SIGN or BANNER project.  Rules on the sidebar.  Let's Go!
